West of Trail simply means neighborhoods west of Tamiami Trail from the city, south to the Phillippi Creek. These are among Sarasota’s oldest suburban neighborhoods and possibly the most desirable on the mainland. West of Trail offers large, and often luxurious homes on quiet, tree-lined streets with strolling sidewalks. Many waterfront homes are available and all have easy access to downtown, beaches, shopping, restaurants, arts, and Sarasota Memorial Hospital. West of Trail is located between Downtown and Siesta Key.
